It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care and we are so excited for Santa to come and visit this year! It will be so much fun with Hudson being around. He is such a bundle of joy these days with lots of smiles. It even makes being locked up much more fun. It has been too cold these past couple of days -45! Who would have thought that temperature after the fall we've had? Hudson must have known we were getting stir crazy and needed a pick me up so today he gave Daddy his first little laugh while he was changing him and tickling his tummy. Daddy was so excited! Later today Hudson gave Mommy a little courtesy giggle while being lifted into the air. He must have felt sorry for me.

We've had a busy couple of weeks getting ready for the holidays. It's much more difficult with a little one, eventhough he's quite a good little shopper. The shopping is done and the gifts are all wrapped and under the tree. Shandy hates the tree because she can't look out the window, so we've had a couple ripped gifts from her propping herself up on them to see over the presents and out the window. The baking is done and the house is decorated. Now we're just counting down the days. Our celebration starts on Wednesday when my frined Jen and her little on Kailyn come to visit (hopefully the weather cooperates this time) and then our first Christmas is on Saturday with the Petrich side. We can't wait! We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season!

It's so blurry because he was moving so much. He was having SO much fun!
I can reach!! I am so big I can touch the ground and bounce.
He shows his excitement with a bubble.

Nap time with his favourite new blanket and his buddy Tigger.

Decorating the tree with Mommy.
This was the extent of the cooperation. Daddy decorated most of the
tree by himself, Hudson was just not into it.

"I love this reindeer. I can't wait for him to come visit"

Hudson got to meet Santa. He was so good considering
Mommy woke him up to sit on his knee because there wasn't
a line-up. But before I could get him off Santa's knee he had to give
Santa something to remember him by and spit up on his sleeve. :)

3 Months Old - Where does the time go?

I can't believe it's already been 3 months. Hudson is growing like a weed. He's smiling like crazy! We're waiting in anticipation for a laugh. We can't wait. He rolled over from back to front for the first time today which was pretty exciting. He's been doing the front to back roll for a while because he hates being on his belly. He loves bounces on your legs when you hold him but isn't quite tall enough for his jumper. He's crazy about being lifted in the air. What fun! We're starting to get ready for Christmas as I want to be finished my shopping before the weather gets bad but with the way it's been going it could be nice until after Christmas. Who knows? Jay has been working like a madman trying to get our basement finished before Christmas and finished the sanding of the drywall today. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hudson's first parade. We went to the Wetaskiwin Santa
Claus parade and were very disappointed but it was a nice evening so not a
complete waste.

Only 19 more days and he'll be done his second
year of pipefitting.

Hudson's a little short for his jumper still but sure likes the mirror.
And who can blame him when you're that cute!

us finished up doing our Operation Christmas Child

The Things we do to be Beautiful!

Hudson had had some cradle cap, which I didn't think was so bad but when Hudson and I went to his 2 month check up the doctor prescibed some medicated oil to put on his scalp. We had to put a shower cap on to make sure that he didn't get his hands in it and then in his mouth or eyes. At first he hated it and screamed and now he's used to it. We had to do it for 10 days and yesterday was the last day and his cradle cap is all cleared up and looks fantastic. It was all worth it.

Halloween - Our Little Monkey

For Hudson's first Halloween he dressed up as a monkey and Daddy as the man in the yellow hat from Curious George (for those of you that don't remmeber). Jason thought of that all on his own. We did a little "Trick or Treating" in the afternoon to Grandma and Grandpa's in Wetaskiwin where Auntie Lisa and Uncle Kyle came to see their favourite little monkey. We also went to Grandma's in Millet and Uncle Shawn and Auntie Haley's. Then we stayed home and handed out candy and some of our favourite little characters. Avery, Lady from "Lady and the Tramp" stopped by. She was adorable. And Kami, dressed as a lady bug. And Aiden the storm trooper. So much fun!

Odds and Ends

Hudson's first cold. I know it's kind of gross but it made me laugh.
I came out of the shower and said "Oh look and you" and he gave me the biggest smile

Stacy and Jesse's Wedding

October 3 we attended Stacy and Jesse's wedding at the beautiful, yet quite chilly, Devonian Gardens . I think it was the first cold day we had. None the less it was a beautiful wedding and the beautiful couple were so in love. We were glad we could be part of their special day.

Making New Friends

This month we got to make some new friends, this all started last February when I was asked to do the Roots of Empathy program at Rosebrier School with Hudson. We go into the 4/5 class there every 3 weeks and the kids get to learn about the development of a baby and this helps to build empathy in them and limit bullying, we hope anyway. So far it's gone really well we've gone two times and Hudson has been really good both times.
Then Hudson got to meet his future girlfriend. My friend Jen had her little girl Kailyn 10 days before Hudson but you would never know because he's huge compared to the little peanut! It was so nice to see them and to get to meet Kailyn.

Hudson's Beautiful Baby Shower

Hudson and I were thrown a "surprise" baby shower which unfortunately I have too much time on my hands and am a little nosey and figured most of it out. We were so lucky to be surrounded by so many special people in our lives. I have such fabulous friends and family that took the time to organize such a great day for me. I love them so much! Hudson was such a trooper and got cuddled by everyone there. We were spoiled rotten with so many beautiful gifts. It was a wonderful day!
